I would keep them around the same.  I run the 215/55 16 on her 9-3 Vector at the same as the summer 225/45 17.

I did the same with the 18 inch tyres on my 9-5, despite the Vredestein website saying that they should be run at 46 psi!!  Even at 38 psi they wore out slightly more in the middle than the edge.

I'm running:
36PSI in the 9-3ss (205/55*16) as stated in the handbook for winter tyres on 16's
and
35F/36R psi in the 9-5 (225/45*17)

Wheels on and already notice how good they are. Ride is much more noticeably comfortable. Will see how they get on in the wet but may have to wait looking at weather forecast for here may be slight chance of shower on Wednesday.

Just thought I'd post a picture to show the difference the 16" wheels with winter tyres on them have over my 17" summer wheels. Tyres are 215/55 R16 Avon Ice Touring ST.

I think it makes the car look more 'beafy' - not sure whether that's good or not?

Very little snow in Scotland - a bit jealous as I take rather sad pleasure in gliding past stuck cars with my tyres!!

Needed the winter tyres to getup the hill to one of the 365 pubs in Norwich which originally had a church for every week and a pub for every day of the year :)

Prob about 45 churches now and around 300 pubs................................................ :-*

Well, we've got about 2" of the white stuff this morning...let's see how Uniroyal rain tyres manage when the rain is in cold lumps!

We had a 'bit' in London - my Quadraxers felt safe, but I really couldn't test them as I had a fuddy-duddy in a Meriva causing a hold-up in front of me on country roads >:(

Testing things out on quiet bits of road, I've found a marked tendency towards oversteer on snow if you try to get round a corner too quickly- maybe I need a couple of sacks of cement in the boot :D

The other 'arf may get paranoid if she sees them - especially if you suggest that you pop down to the dockside for lunch...

The other week I gave the cable ties I keep in the boot of the car to someone so that they could cable tie the bumper of their car back on and I couldn't find any of the duct tape I normally carry (for emergency car repairs! honest!) so I sent myself an email with the subject "get some more cable ties and duct tape for the boot of the car". I just hope it hasn't triggered any watch lists  ???
