Hi,

I am sure everything will be fine. Had mine looked at today and all they could find was the other rear trailing arm link had slight movement, nothing at the front where all the noise appears to be, but like you it's driving and handling ok. Can't wait for you to get to the bottom of it, it will give me somewhere to look next. Good bits, new stepper motor has sorted 08 issue with heater, new heater bypass valve cured coolant leak, engine n gearbox oils changed, ready for winter.

hi,

In my experience its the rubbers that work the most that fail or begin to breakdown first, for me droplinks went first, then front ARB,s, rear trailing arm bush and now I think I have another to fix. Its in garage tomorrow so will see what they can find. its only occasional but usually at the brow of hill at speed .Are all you engine and gearbox mounts ok?. I thought had suspension trouble and turned out to be front gearbox mount.

Hi,

Will have a hose clamp so 50mm should pull up tight on 49mm collar in my view.

Classic Saab 9-5 (MY 1998-2010) / sunroof drains
« on: 15 September 2015, 07:46:03 PM »
Hi all,

Had a couple of instances of wetness under rear seat on passenger side which I traced to sunroof over flowing when parked uphill. I have cleared front drains again but can not for the life of me see or locate the rear ones. Problem oddly has stopped since clearing front drains even when parked uphill, but  I would like to clean rear if possible. Can this be done from underneath the car?

thanks

steve

Thanks

Hi,

Looks like delamination at tread and side wall interface , wouldn't think you had any alignment issue. Nokian don't have the best reputation for construction quality but that would be bad luck. What are date of manufacture for them? Interesting to see if they from same batch

Hi all,  it's been a while, but the Griffin is still sailing down the road happily at 165000, except I now have Service theft alarm message appear today on SID. It's the second unit fitted to the car and replacement was genuine fitted 8 years ago!!

Only serviced 2 months ago so don't really want to pay for Tech 2 session although this probably will happen as I don't have inclination to remove and start changing capictors and batteries etc.

My question is how long does it usually take before the unit starts malfunctioning and going off randomly or the like? Should I pull fuse until she's next in the garage?

Thanks for any thoughts

Hi All,

Today shes had New Bosch Aero Twin Wiper Blades, GE Maxi Light main beam bulbs, Osram Night Breaker Fog Light Bulbs and new Rear Number Plate LED Bulbs, Fuel system cleaner and Autobox fluid change (well 3.5 litres). Sneaky suspicion ive got a wheel Bearing gone, rumbling noise has appeared and at 160000 still on at least one original front I am not surprised.

Its booked in for Monday and have asked them to fit genuine Saab or the Vauxhall part. Today however it never used a drip of coolant going to and from work whereas it had been loosing about 1.5L a day??!!.

hi all,

oddly on motorway trip north on thursday my temp gauge started to rise so pulled over and coolant leaking, culprit heater bypass valve. should I buy £8 option from the bay or source genuine. Im convinced hot weather didn't help as was showing 30 deg all way up the m40. My car is V6 with SAI is the part number same for all 95,s. PC has died again and I have no WIS or EPC.

Thanks

Mine lasted to about 135k (miles), car was about 9 years old then, the reason I believe it failed was due to increased oil pressure after a sump drop and clean. Almost immediately after we did that sump drop and went to the final breather it started smoking from cold so we replaced it as a precaution.
Hi,

Ive just had service and now notice a little puff of smoke when starting from warm. Original turbo at 150500 miles. still boosting well but I suspect is next thing to change.
