Roof rattle
« on: 25 November 2014, 11:42:32 AM »
I've got a rattle that seems to be coming from around the area of the nearside windscreen catch of my 07 vert. It latches closed properly with no play, all visible bolts on the catch are tight and I can't find any play in the catch.

It has been getting slowly worse so I would like to have a look in case something drops off and stops the roof from opening.

I can see there is a plate held by screws that needs to come off but how is the other piece of trim held on ?

Its not the sun-visor is it?
Mine does it (convertible) but I can assure you it doesnt even sound like its coming from the sun-visor... until you move it. Then it stops!

In my instance it was the passenger sun-visor that was the offending article

Moving the visor didn't stop the rattle but a trapping a bit of paper under the cover of the mirror on the visor has made it rattle a lot less.

Ah - now that's interesting...I might have to take a closer look at my sun-visor rather than just give it a good slap to the folded position  ;D
