Log in issue? Read this
« on: 01 July 2011, 06:26:12 PM »
There appears to be a glitch with the forum that seemingly prevents you logging in on your return.

We're not sure why this is happening, but can suggest a solution.

1, Log in to STT and click 'Forever' as the time period (DO NOT do this if you are on a shared computer, though)
2, participate in STT as normal, then close your browser.
3, on your return you will appear to be logged out, and logging back in will fail, so don't try logging in.
4, simply click on the large Saab Tech Talk text in the top left and you will find that your previous session is restored.

Sorry for the issues, whilst we do not know what is causing the problem, we know the solution.  8)

When I visit the forum, I go to
Code: [Select]
http://www.saabtechtalk.com/forum/index.php However, all the links etc are to
Code: [Select]
http://saabtechtalk.com/forum/etc... (ie without the www sub-domain prefex). Could this be the source of the problem?

OK, I seem to have (I think) fixed the issue AFAICT.

I had 2 lots of cookies: from both saabtechtalk.com and www.saabtechtalk.com.
I logged out and deleted all related cookies.
Went back to the forum via http://saabtechtalk.com (ie without the www) and logged in.
Everything seems to be OK now.

Martin, thanks very much for that.  You've hit the nail on the thumb.  I have made some amendments to clear things up, tested it and I think that you should be able to access the site without any further login problems.

Thanks for the feedback, it really helped.
