Classic Saab 9-3 & GM900 (MY 1994-2002/03CV) / Brakes shudder when braking at high speed

2002 93 Aero 97,000 miles 205 BHP


My pads are fine my front discs look ok but my rear discs look rusted and not in great condition.

Should I get new discs all around or just repalce the rears? My front discs dont have much on a lip on them but wondering if there slighty warped hense the shuddering at speed braking?

Also what is the percentag of braking between front an rear? is it like 65% front 35% rear?

I just want my brakes to be good sharp and stop me like newer cars Ive driven

I have a 2002 93 aero, does anyone know if its possible to fit a cd player from a newer saab in? Mine looks dated and dont want to get a kenwood etc with flasing eq levels and bad plastic housing on the dashboard.

Any advice would be helpful?

This has happened a couple of times recently since its been cold, my temp gauge in the car goes up to nearly halfway initally then after a few miles it just drps back to cold?!!! I have adequate amoutns of coolant and anti freeze etc and I get hot air coming through the blowers. what could this be ? broken sensor? I dont understand I spent £800 on it this month and I dont want to spend anymore!!

Is it true that the 2 speakers either side of the parcel shelf are just standard 6x9's? If so are they easy to remove and replace. (my left speaker cant handle any songs with any remote amount of bass!!)

What other Saab forums do people use? they seems to change every year!! Im on htis and saab scene, could you suggest some other good ones?

There never seems to be be many pictures of peoples cars etc on this and saab scene.

Is it adviseable to spray the front grill black, or is there some where you can buy them sprayed? I dont trust myself to pull it off without making it look tacky!!

Hi all,

Just a quick question about my Aero 93 /02. Recently when accelerating the spooling noise from the turbo has got quite loud and the gush of air sounds like it gets loud every time??

Is it mayeb an air leak causing the problem? All I want to know is that its not signs of my turbo going up *hit creek without a paddle!!

Any replies would be much apprieciated Thanks

I drove my car this morning, then popped home to get something and when i tried to start it the dashboard lights would jusy flickerer and you could hear a clicking in the engine bay but would not even try to turn over?

I then got a friend to start it with jump leads to move it somewhere safer (25miles away) and after parking it up the same thing happened again.

Now is this a dead battery or could it be the alternator?

when you turn the key the head lights dim I dont kow if this helps figure out whats the issue exactly?

Please help...just dotn want to buy a battery to find I need a new alternator as well.

If  i wanted to replace my turbo off my aero 93 2002 before  it goes can i get a better super charger without any extra fitment or inter cooler upgrade needed? Sorry writing this off my phone!

on my 93 aero 2002 when i put my foot down and i watch the turbo dial it never seems to go into the red, does it matter or is my turbo not working as it should.?
