I have a 2.8 v6 auto with the flappy paddles.have had the car for 10 months now and find the car a great all round vehicle being a sport wagon makes it good with a family.i really like the v6 power plant as smooth and  quiet.the car is hirsched but still get 26mpg going to work and back and 30mpg on a run.i would say if you were looking to get one try to find one with the hirsch upgrade which I did as makes the car very quick with a superb power delivery .i had a 9-5 aero prior to this one and find running the v6 only slightly more expensive but the v6 soundtrack makes it worth it.

Thanks for the input.i need to go back up to m.k saabcentre soon so will ask any if he has any ideas about this issue.

3
Yes audax it was hirsched with software only from new.dont know if this could be relevant...

4
Thanks audax.i did try today after refuelling as you say by not touching the throttle and car started but was lumpy for a second or two then ran fine.would this be the norm or is there an underlining issue.i was up at m k saabcentre last week and should have asked a day but forgot.any pointers.

5
ThaNks will.should I just turn the engine over after refuelling not touching the throttle and see if car starts.is this normal then will with that engine management system.

6
Update on this issue.having changed the evac purge valve back in august the car has ran fine and shown no sighn of reduced power whatsoever so seems to have cured that fault.thanks sqould for your help with this.

7
Thanks audax, becoming clear now.happened again today so will get it booked in ASAP and will post the fix and cost

8
Yes ,I will play it by ear.i see neo,s are selling cim,s for around 260pound but they seem to look like ignitions with keys??would these be the modules you think could be the issue...??

9
Thanks audax.do you think my next step would be to try to get a fault code when it happens again or should I go ahead and book it into my nearest saab indie at m.keynes

Hi all.ok went to go out yesterday after car stood overnight and car info system said traction control fault contact service and car would not turn over.i was in a hurry so was not sure what to try so disconnected the battery for short period and this cleared the fault and car started fine and drove without issues all day.went to work today no probs but when time to go home got same fault again.a friend tried to read fault codes with a wireless obd reader but would not connect to ecu,so once again did battery trick and car started again and strangely then friends obd connected to the ecu and said no stored codes which I presume was because I had disconnected the battery and cleared the codes if was any stored.any pointers please, maybe traction control module???

Just to update this thread.i did change the evac purge valve which I purchased from a vauxhall dealer as a Bosch part same as on vectra vxr.running great at the moment but did not help starting issue after refuelling.still takes 5to 6 seconds turning engine over with foot to the floor.will have to see how things progress.

12
Yes sqould, crazy why the guy never said what the fault was as mine does have those symptoms ,ie fails to start straight away after fuelling.never mind ,will maybe try a purge valve first.

13
Many thanks sqould.that's the one for the v6 yes..?

14
Yes I thought they were different.could you let me know the part number when you get chance in case that is the issue.

15
Uum,not really sure sqould.do you mean like the 9-5 suffered with where you had to use a bolt to divert one of the pipes from the bpv??? .i had that issue with a previous early 9-5 aero.these v6,s don't have that set up do they?.will have to see how it progresses, just hope it's not a software issue.
