Recommendation for Alloy wheel repair

(1/1)

welshwizard:
Got 2 19" Turbines restored last week.  Lots of corrosion and kerb marks (not all down to me).

Tried the Wheel Specialist in Kingston first - agreed price and date.  When I tried to deliver my wheels and new tyres the place had closed down, I only received a reminder the day before...

So, following Ian Allan (Virginia Water)'s advice I used Premier Wheels in Redhill, Reigate, Surrey.

The job took 3 days and was £104 per wheel (and tyre fitted and balanced) - they look as good as new now.  Just need to refit onto car then I will share images.  Should add that smaller diameter wheels will probably be slightly cheaper.

Steve McF:
I'm interested to find out the results. I have a set of 18" Speedline alloys that were on the car when I got it, but which are all scuffed with some corrosion.

If I can get a set of standard Saab 17" Aero alloys to fit so I can take these off, I can look at getting them refurbed at some point too.

welshwizard:
Did promise pictures didn't I? oops!

One of the repainted wheels did connect with the kerb 2 weeks ago.   I cried!

Steve McF:
Oh no, disaster!!!

That's what would concern me if I did get them refurbed. Slightest connection with the kerb and all the good work can be ruined :o

sgould:
These days I get the wheels refurbed at the cheapest place I can find.  There's no point in driving around the urban jungle here and expect the wheels to stay in showroom condition.
