I managed to pick up the diversity kit from eBay for 30GBP, I just set a search running for the part numbers from the EPC and set it to send out mail alerts for new listings, one eventually appeared

actually there's a couple listed at the moment

those are all of the circles that I am currently going around

it seems they did have an android 4.4 unit with parrot bluetooth but no longer offer that

the thing that is currently frustrating me is the lack of voice dial. Previously I had a parrot, so tap the call button and then voice instructions to make a call, this head unit doesn't have that capability

"ok google call..." on the head unit opens up the contact but won't make a call via bluetooth

I found this which does work for the playlists but doesn't want to recognise steering wheel key presses

W

I did mange to get the just playlists app to recognise steering wheel key presses so it will skip tracks, but have hit upon the problem that temperature significantly affects the head unit's ability to recognise previously programmed key presses. I guess as it is a resistance approach and resistance varies as a function of temperature, the voltage that the analogue to digital converter (ADC) and associated logic recorded at the time of programming isn't being seen once the temperature drops, or the ADC is just bobbins.

One of these bluetooth controls might be the way forward for more consistent control

Yes, just one live and ground

In your case you think the voltage is upsetting the sid and providing the right voltage to present the clear signal

no issues with the bong and cleared that you mentioned before

the SW1 and SW2 connections on the head unit that are used for the restive switches on the steering wheel control are both +3V, in spite of being labelled as being at +5V on the cables

I am selling this SOT integration kit that is suited for cars with denso NAV

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272957854800?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

allows a handsfree like a parrot to be added to the nav unit to give bluetooth, AUX, etc integration, it is also called a saab26tel by some suppliers

the unit uses the resistance approach, same as the one you have, so I tapped into the appropriate cabling in the steering wheel cowling then used the app on the unit to program different functions, stock music player app recognises key presses but can't get just playlists to respond

Noted sgould

Install went well, managed to avoid removing the glovebox to route cabling to passenger side A pillar with the assistance of a steel measuring tape. Sound is excellent and dab is a welcome addition, WiFi connection is not great but probably not helped by a neighbour parking his transit van in the  line of sight.

Manufacturer documentation states that the unit will only recognise usb thumb drives up to 64Gb but it is quite happy with a 128Gb drive, now need to work out how to get playlists to work as the stock music player app doesn't want to do anything with .m3u playlists.

The GPS aerial has a Fakra connector at the other end under the sharkfin.  You could run a longer cable from there.  I did that with the DAB & FM/AM aerials, but the new satnav I got (Kenwood) had the grey connector.

€20 to save me the hassle of removing the headlining to run a cable to the sharkfin is €20 well spent

half an hour with a soldering iron to get loom for the unit sorted so into the car for a test, all powered up and I manged not to blow the OEM power amp so I obviously turned the pots on the on the amplifier interface the right way

the OEM denso unit has a GPS input from the shark fin, can anyone identify this type of  connector, I though they would use fakra on the GPS connector but looks not to be the case

the square grey thing in this image
