Mirror Glass removal - 2003 onwards
« on: 22 February 2012, 11:22:23 AM »
The door mirrors on the 9-5 changed in 2003. They are now the same as the 9-3 Sport Saloon.

There are pictures of the spring wire clip and fixing in the 9-3 SS section here:

I'll try and sort it out.  All my stuff was hosted on the Apple server, but that was closed in May.

I've put the photos up on Photobucket.  No captions though.  But it shows you what you are trying to undo, especially unclipping the mirror glass.

Original link now fixed.

Could someone please upload new pictures? The ones in the linked thread are all gone.

They have haven't they!  :o  Photobucket decided that they wanted £400 a year for the link, so I deleted the account.

You have to get behind the mirror glass on the inside edge, then unhook the ends of the wire clip to release it.  Here are the pictures of what you are looking to get off.

Opening the window helps.

When refitting, fit the wire to the mirror glass and push it on. A small bit of lube helps.  DON'T push on the edges, the mirror is not that strong.  I use an old windscreen suction cut from a sat nav to hold the glass, coming off and going on.
