Searched that number on the Monroe site and it says their part number is 5618  But that seems to be the US site.  I can't find a comparison on their UK site.

I found a link to the "Master Catalogue" which you can download here  https://www.monroe.com/en-gb/support/catalogues.html
and it gives this bit of info, which seems to suggest that Monroe offer the same rear shocks for all models... E1329

But the Neo ones look to be the right ones as well.

Going to wait for Saabits to come back to me with a price, and if no better, I may just order the Sachs ones and Lemforder top mounts from Neos, although they are quoting £170 plus around £8 delivery. PFS is coming back around £180 plus about another tenner for delivery.

Unless anyone can advise of a better price anywhere (reputable)?

Ouch, Saabits charge £89 per Sachs shock absorber, so I think I'll be going for the Neo option after all.

So back on the Neo's site...and these Sachs shocks look like they fit practically everything, according to their compatibility chart, including the lowly 1.8i and TDi 8V....

That goes with the info on the Monroe site.  They also only offer one part for all the saloons.

The shock absorber will be fine as long as it doesn't bottom out on full spring compression.  I think that's unlikely given the fairly small amount of lowering between standard and sport suspension.

I would go for the cheapest between Sachs and Monroe.  They are both good makes. I've been reminded that I fitted Monroe to SWMBO's old diesel Mercedes about 50 years ago!! :o

Got the rear dampers and top mounts from Neos very quickly. I don't think I've ever bought anything from them before, and people moan about them, but I had no issues (so far!).

Yesterday my mechanic fitted them, and I now have the car back, clank free at last :D

Well everything seems to be OK.....now I notice the knock from the front that has always been there all the more :D

One of the front dampers has a slight leak as picked up on the MOT, so those will need doing next. I assume if I do the top mounts at the same time, that front knock may disappear? From memory, droplinks and ARB bushes had been done before I got the car and it still had this knock on speedramps etc.

Our Carlsson is fairly silent now the new top mounts have been fitted.  Before that it rattled.  But don't discount the drop links, the standard ones don't seem to last.  We fitted Meyle heavy duty ones and they seem fine.
