Best tools for removing interior trim
« on: 02 May 2018, 07:59:58 PM »
Can anyone recommend a good set of tools for removing interior trim without scuffing or damaging it?

I saw a couple of cheap sets on Ebay that had maybe 6 or more small tools for prising trim off, but I thought I'd consult the experts before buying anything ;)

I have a set of Bojo tools.  They have been very good and are some years old now.

Similar to these, but mine are in a red roll-up...

Any of those look OK.  The removal of the aircon panel just needs a lever (or two) that won't scratch the trim.  Or a screwdriver and some tape over the trim.  You need a small screwdriver to start releasing the the wedgelock.

The EHU just needs something long and flat each side to keep the spring clips from re-engaging.

You only need the special release keys if you want to remove the CD player on its own.  Once you have removed the EHU with the CD player beneath, you can release the CD player without any special tool as the latches on the side are exposed.
