CitTone, you need a hobby. Other than neighbour-watching.  :)

Aye, but my neighbour is using a hoepipe around the garden during the ban in our area, and she is dying for the cops to pitch up.
The water is being pumped from a water butt  ;D

The geezer next to me doing the building work has put a BIG BIG nail in his own coffin now....................

Looked out the window first thing to find him sawing through one of the large branches of my oak tree that hangs over his driveway. He didn't notice however that I had great delight in videoing him on my mobile and sent into my Local Authority Tree Officer. The tree is near 200 years old and has a TPO on it which means he cannot touch it without consent from LA Planning and a registered tree surgeon has to do the work especially as we are in a conservation woodland location £££££'s.

About half an hour ago the Tree Officer appeared and berated him. I hadn't noticed but several others have been trimmed back on other trees with TPO's - this one branch was about4 metres long. Tree Officer called and thanked me and said they will prosecute the builder who reckoned he knew it had TPO but couldn't wait 6 weeks to get permission. It appears he can be fined up to £20k for doing this but in most cases it ends up being around £10k.

Another point to me.

Now where can I find trenchfoots sparrow for next event?????????

Special Branch - yeh I like it.

Well work has stopped on anything near the tree but I won't know what action is being taken for about a week.

nail number 2 also went in the coffin with a call to HSE as the young lad was again using a petrol cutter with 12" disc to cut paving slabs and kerbs. That's ok but he was wearing trainers, jeans and a sweatshirt. No steel toed boots, shin protectors, mask, goggles or hard hat and the kerb was rocking around so he put another on it to stop that. HSE were not happy and said they'd visit the site within 48 hrs and confront the guy for his site safety book, method statements, instruction manuals etc for all plant on site. He will be told a member of the public walking past noticed but was to frightened to confront them so called them to voice concerns. They have the power to close his site down just like that! The HSE guy said they've been having a crack down on small builders and have been visiting sites all over the county checking vans and equipment in them.

Now what can I do to get next nail in????

Be careful that the project is not stopped at a very inconvenient phase for you - ie parts of the fence missing etc.

Thanks Trenchfoot.

I wouldn't say I'm anal about HSE but.................... having worked in the industry for 36 years and train first-aid as well I just don't like to see these things going on.

It's not hard to do things right but some just don't care and can't be bothered and that's why I have to carry £1.5m Professional Indemnity! Which ain't cheap

Maybe he's turned over a new leaf, and won't do it again. He'd be barking mad if he didn't.
