Ref architecture and all that: in my previous job at the Beeb, I was the project manager for a lot of major buidling refurbishments so am well aware of the client-architect-contractor triangle! The worst "can't do it that way guv"s were the Beeb's own internal architecture department!

Bricklayer by trade, I did a stint in the Royal Navy on the nuclear subs, got back into bricklaying when I left, moved into site management, got laid off and now Im a scum chauffer bus driver

no, bet your on a nice warm bus though, the ones I drive are freezing in the winter and red hot in the summer, they need scrapping

Nah, the ones I travel on are driven by Schumaker-wannabes ... They seem to equate 13-tonnes of Scania with Red Bull's finest motorsport tech.

we had 2 teams from scrapheap challenge turn up at out depot

they had to make a working bus from all the ones we drive

they failed

I take my hat off to some bus drivers - a huge responsibility, and they have to put up with some right prats that can't behave - I've seen it for myself.

I voluntarily drive a charity bus one day a week to take  school children to the local swimming pool. Luckily the kids are all charming and polite and always say 'Thank you' when they disembark.

Heheh - perhaps you could give a smart jab on the brake when they offenders stand up to get off. During the ensuing investigation you would just say 'Well I had to brake for the child/dog/pensioner that stepped out in front of the bus' 

Personally I'd be handing out CVs like no tomorrow. I hate impoliteness from whatever quarter - there is just no excuse for it under any circumstances
