Electric window fault
« on: 22 March 2019, 07:28:19 AM »
I have a 2011 Saab 93 saloon (1.9 TTiD). Driver's side electric window stopped functioning suddenly - makes no noise when the button is pressed, and doesn't work from the remote either. All other electrics are fine.

Where would you start with the trouble-shooting?

Thanks in advance!

You could have a look at the motor - they do get corroded.  You can take it out without disturbing the regulator - iirc, it is housed in a white holder that connects to the regulator spool. And test that there is power to it. Door card has to come off and first the door handle.

Try disconnecting the connector in the door hinge and cleaning the contacts.  If that doesn’t work, try the contacts behind the door card.  The pins in the connectors are not gripped well by the female side of the connector and the connection can be poor.

It may not work, but it’s a common fault and a cheap fix to try first.
