SGould, can I ask a numpty question?
The faulty wing mirrors were down to the switch in the door or the switch on the dash?

It was the door switch.  The mirror didn't adjust when I moved the memory seats.

The dashboard switch only does the folding of the mirrors.  That's a minor problem for another day.  They don't completely close at the moment, but that's likely to be lack of use and just in need of a clean and lubrication.  Otherwise it will be some soldering of the new resistor thing in the load sensor.

The door switch can be levered out of its hole, Although the plastic trim it fits into can be pulled off over the top of the door.  If you do this, start at the front, the rear of the trim ends up behind the adjoining part and comes out by lifting and pulling, gentky. The switch itself comes apart by gently levering open the four plastic clips on the side.  You can see the four, with the holes inb them for latching, in the picture.
