My tow car, 2009 spec 58 reg 2.8 V6 XWD has developed a front end rumble at 40mph. Power on, over run or coasting strong sound of road noise but no vibrations. Tyres were low on tread so have been changed but no change. Full major service recently new shocks fitted at the rear during service but fronts given clean bill of health and are still solid with no leaks. No steering wheel wobble. No wheel or joint movement on jacks. So questions or possibilities please coz this is just weird!

A  1998 GM900 in dull silver with very bent side panels and 154K miles is transformed!!

This project has taken exactly 2 years to date (24/07/11).

Here are some photo shoot pics just before it's all stripped down to have it's new rasied sump fitted. Could be the last time it's seen alive as it may not recover from the anaesthetic (or my fabrication work or my welding etc etc etc.....) :o

Big thanx Lena for spending the only sunny day of your holiday away from the beach & the loan of a brill camera!

The transformation team!
We had better stop looking so smug coz there is loads of work to do yet  :-\

Classic Saab 9-5 (MY 1998-2010) / Wheel Concentric Spacers
« on: 01 July 2011, 11:37:45 AM »
High Speed suspension shake & steering woes are a common issue with after market wheels on SAAB's. Anyone know where you can buy spacers that convert the 65.1mm diameter SAAB hub to 72.6mm. Turned some up myself and they solve all the problems buy I can't make them thin enough (my DIY's are 20mm) and need 10-12mm.

Buying a better lathe does seem a rather expensive option  :-\

For some reason the standard manufacturer supplied polycarbonate rings just don't seem to work on SAAB's. 93 & 95 suffer the same. Anyone know why?
