Windscreen washer pump
« on: 02 December 2012, 08:47:05 PM »
Does anyone have any tips on removing the washer pump and disconnecting the pipe from the outlet.

It's still working but the washer fluid is leaking from the body of the pump.
There seems to be something on the end of the pipe that clips to the pump. You can turn it so it's not fixed solid to the pump. All the pictures I've seen of the pump the pipe to the jets goes on a small diameter pipe fixed to the pump and mine is not like that.

The workshop manual is no help at all. There is no detail.  Just "disconnect" & "unplug".

Does your pump look like the one in the attachment?

The position of the inlet and outlet are like that but the outlet looks more like the one on this.

Should have said the inlet and outlet are in the same place as in your picture

I found it was just those silly 'o'ring washers that had split on mine. I bought a big box of assorted sizes on eBay and can fix anything now!

Make sure you assemble with a smear of silicone grease [Thumbs-up Smiley]
