Agree with this.  My C900 has one, and I can power out of corners where I know a comparable car without the LSD would misbehave.

Under everyday driving, tbh, you don't know it's there.

To interrupt the tumbleweeds ... I saw this yesterday:

Done too.  Small world, I was at school with KT's manager and some mates of mine did backing stuff on her first album.

Played in bands on and off myself for longer than I care to remember - good luck to your lad!

In the early 1980s my parents had an S-reg MGB, an L-reg Beetle and an L-reg VW Camper.  The MGB and camper are, according to the DVLA, still on the road :)

Just looked up some of my old motors (well, most of them) for a laugh.  Some quite surprising results:

- 1993 T16S 'vert, sold July 2007 with 220k (ish) on the clock, fresh respray but some potential rust issues underneath:  Still on the road, date of liability 01/02/13, ie just been taxed!  Well pleased about this.  Anyone here?  L349CPD.
- 1996(P) 9000CSE, sold September 2000:  Date of liability 01/03/2007 :(  Great car it was, too.
- 1991(H) 900i 16v.  Details not found.  Was in excellent nick when we sold it in 1999 though.  H286NCF, anyone?
- 1993(K) 900SE, LPG'd with leather and air-con.  Also details not found :(  K992UDD
- 1974 96V4, date of liability 01/06/2012 :)

... and the non-Saabs:

- 2003 Aprilia Atlantic 125, sold July 2007:  date of liability 04/04/11, ie no longer with us.  Shame, it was a great scoot.  New exhaust, belt and rollers when I sold it, too.
- 1990(G) Pug 405.  Sold in 1998.  Amazingly still on the road until 2001, according to the DVLA.  What a shed.
- V-reg Espace, written off in 2005, appears to still be on the road and taxed until June!
- X-reg Prius with some nasty front end damage - sold on eBay for spares but appears to be taxed until September.

Can't remember the reg number of my old 960, but I suspect it went to the scrappy with a dropped exhaust valve.

Someone broke into our garage, years ago now, and tried to steal my 1971 Alfa - which had the keys in it but the battery was disconnected.  So they tried to steal the 900 with the keys from the Alfa.  No joy there.  Then they tried to take the radio out of the 900, but only ended up cracking the nasty stick-on fake wood dash.  So they took the radio out of the Alfa - which didn't work anyway.

Not the most successful burglary :D

Took my 'vert to my indy yesterday and ended up parking next to its twin:

I've got to get rid of that exhaust, it really does look silly.

OK, the latest in my C900's eccentricities.  Possibly related to the stalling problem?

The short version is that it dies when there's too much electrical load.  A few examples:

- Driving along at constant speed, esp at low revs, if I put two of the windows down / up the radio dies and the car stumbles / stutters
- Rolling slowly into my garage, I hit the brakes and the car often dies
- Without much electrical load it idles reasonably smoothly (for a 900).  Turn the lights, fog lights, HRW on or put the roof up / down and it nearly dies.  In fact often it does die when you operate the roof.

So far we've replaced most of the vac lines, cleaned the throttle body and replaced the idle control valve.

Ideas?

What - no references to Tinker, Tailor.....?

... Soldier, SAAB? :D

:o :o

I was rather more keen the idea of Nuvolari, or Fangio. Besides, Clarkson is still with us so it can't be him (thankfully  ???)

One of my favourite bedtime books as a small child was Nuvolari and the Alfa Romeo.  I remember making my Dad read it to me night after night.  Excellent.

It's overkill, really.  But it came with the Mac, which I bought s/h as a package on eBay.  And at least I know I'm not going to run out of storage any time soon :D  I've since added a 160(?)GB SSD as the boot drive.

james, 6 x 1 terabytes  - that's just showing off!

similar, I've 6* 1Tb drives, 6* 320Gb drives, 6* 80Gb drives, a 120Gb and a 64Gb SSD drives, and a few odds and ends drives.

About 30 in total.

Disc is cheap!

6 x 1TB WD Black Caviar drives in a 4TB Raid6 array, with one more as a hot spare.

Important stuff backed up via Time Machine to a Seagate external drive.

Really important stuff kept in the clouds.

Seems to work :)

I like.  iPhone 4S arrived this morning.

I did skip 3GS and 4, though - got rid of my iPhone 3G six months ago and have been using an HTC Evo since then.  I won't be sorry to see the HTC go; Droid is nice in some ways, particularly if you're into endless tweaking.  But at my advanced age I prefer the simplicity of iOS.  New features all look pretty good.

Having a bit of a marathon sync and upgrade this week - four iPads to update and two new iPhones to set up, plus MobileMe to iCloud migration.  It's exhausting.

Tomorrow I'll see how the 4S plays with Ford Sync (which the Droid is pretty good at) and ask Siri some silly questions :D
