Probably a good thing, as it would likely devalue the brand.

Anyone fancy a new MG ?

The Saab 9-3 Convertible was the best selling used car in the UK last month.

Really.... was I a follower or a leader, got close to buying one, but decided if I was going to get one I would like a limey.

Picked up a 9000 instead (more later)  :)

I think it's for the best.  The link between the parent company, what's left of the Stallbacka plant and NEVS has been long gone.

Even when the NG9-5 came out there were moves to break away from using the Griffin logo (which was a Scania thing), only a bonnet badge on the NG and 9-4x, and nothing on the 9-3N which appeared in 2014..

Sure the guy who is in charge now will come up with something exciting.

There was a brief talk at IntSaab2023 at the British Motor Museum last weekend by Peter Backstrom, the head of the Saab Car Museum.

He said that the plant is currently split into three areas.  The old manufacturing area, which is empty.  The Research and Development buildings, which are still in use. It is where the EmilyGT was developed and built.  It is currently being used by Polestar for development work, mostly by former Saab employees.  The third and smallest part, the old office block, is still being used by NEVS, where they are dealing with the company liquidation matters.

Some of the plant has been bought by the Trollhättan municipality and other bits by the company run by the Swedish millionaire industrialist whose name I forget.

I like the sound of Svante Andersson

Kinnekulle Ring is a great little circuit, fortunately there's even a video of a 96 going round it  :Fawlty:

I went to Kinnekula Ring in June last year as part of the Saab Museum Festival.  It's quite cosy, but has some nice changes of elevation.

I only went for the autojumble, but there was a trackday at the same time.  There was a delay while they recovered a 900 with a blown engine and cleaned the track, then it poured with rain after a while, so I drove back to Trollhättan.  There may be another visit in June for the next festival.  It's where i met the guys from https://www.saab3dprint.com they had some interesting bits.
