Does anyone have an electric car yet? Or is anyone considering one? What sort of things are you thinking?

Following on from a comment by Wrighar in the insurance topic, he mentioned that he has dash cams in his car.

The attached image is from my Blackvue DR500GW-HD

Do you have a dash cam? Which one? Are you thinking of getting one? What are your thoughts on them?

If you are interested in a vehicle, or your own, and wish to check information such as the following:

  • VED cost for six months
  • VED cost for twelve months
  • VED status / renewal date
  • MoT status / renewal date
  • Emissions level
  • First registration date
  • Vehicle age
  • Manufacturer
  • Model
  • Colour
  • Fuel type
  • Engine size

Then you could do no better than to bookmark https://totalcarcheck.co.uk

A very useful site, indeed.

Do you back back up your computer?

If you do, what OS do you use and what do you use to back up your data?

As a Vodafone customer, I am supposed to have 'free' wi-fi access at BT Openzone (not BT Fon) access points.

When I was with O2, access was via The Cloud, to which you logged in once and then you automatically connected each time you were in one of The Cloud's wi-fi access points.  Not so with Vodafone / BT Openzone, where you have to log in every time you reach a BT Openzone wi-fi access point.

Thing is, I have never been able to connect to BT Openzone. Even after triple checking login credentials are correct and checking with Vodafone that the service is enabled.

Are there any Vodafone customers, at all, that can connect to the BT Openzone wi-fi access points?

TIA

Are you a Vodafone customer?  Have you ever got the BT Openzone wi-fi to work?

For me, contenders are  Bristol 403, Tatraplan T600 or Citroen DS19.  8)

Which operating system do you use and what is your back up regime, if any?

I'll kick it off:

I use Mac OSX Snow Leopard.
Back up strategy is two-fold:  I do hourly/daily/weekly incremental Time Machine backups to external hard drive plus I use SuperDuper, every evening, to make a complete bootable clone to a different external hard drive.

I've also been looking at offsite backup but not implemented any yet.

Have you installed it (or acquired it on a new 4S), or have you upgraded from iOS 4.3.5 ?

What do you think so far?

I normally use Dropbox, but box.net have a promotion running (started an hour ago) whereby if you log in or register with them via an iOS device (iPad / iPhone) then they will upgrade you from 5GB to 50GB storage space, for free, forever, no strings.

More info on their blog.
