Amp1 upgrade saab 93 2003-2007

Hi aerojon, I have a saloon, so the location of the amp1 is different to that on the convertible. The location of the spare optics is also different. So Reading the manual you sent me, i have connected the green marked fibre optic and blue marked accordingly to complete the loop, there's light on pin 1 of the amp1 connector but only a faint light on cd player connector and icm unit connector, with all plugged in, the radio doesn't come on, no sound to the indicators, so my question is, will my radio come on only after the amp1 has been added? Booked to be programed on Monday afternoon.

Sry for the late reply,if the system worked before you installed the amp then it should all work,once it's been added with tech2.

Hi aerojon, had my car plugged into tech 2, still no joy, my radio was working and still works with the stock setup, but the moment i connect the amp1 and the extra optic cables the radio doesn't come on. Tech 2 says there's a break in the loop, i have looked everywhere removed the icm control panel and speedometer, traced the fibre from left pillar A to centre EHU to right pillar A no break in the system. I have done everything according to both instruction manual and wiring diagram, but still no luck.
Please if you know anyone that has done the amp1 upgrade, point me to their direction.

Yeah, the system works when amp1 is taken out of the loop, 2 stroke saab, bypass the amp1, but the system will not work.

Yeah telephone displays on the sid when i make and receive calls.

The telephone volume and the radio volume are completely separate. Is the phone volume turned right down?  Use the normal radio volume control when “Telephone” shows.

Amp1 upgrade.

Spent 2 hours with a saab specialist, we look at both wiring diagram and installation instructions followed it step by step whilst testing where there's a break. The conclusion was that the amp 1 was on its way out, the break was btw cd player and icm, the light coming out of the amp1 was blinking and turned off after a few seconds, due to this the laser doesn't last long enough to go into the EHU, cd player and back to the ICM, hence tech 2 is not able to add the amp. New amp it is.

Amp1 upgrade complete, all 7 speakers are working with bass etc, definitely much better than the 4 speaker system.
I can confidently say i can challenge any Saab specialist on radio fibre optic.
