Does it have to be a full set of sensors or is there a way to find the one that's failed?

I have just had a 'Tyre pressure monitoring failure' warning come up on the dash.
The pressures themselves are fine, so does anyone have any idea what it might be?

Could it possibly just be the sensor in the wheels itself or does that throw up a different error?

Thanks

Has anyone tried fitting some decent rear LED tail lights on a 9-3?

I have a 2008 car and have seen some supposedly CANBus compatible bulbs, though not sure if they truly are.
In theory they should not give a bulb failure warning.

Anyone have any experience with either these are the indicator LED bulbs?

Thanks

No, but I did earlier, I was looking last night when I got the car but it was dark.  :-[

After removing egg from my face I have now reset it. :)

Thanks

Why does it have two 'trips'?

I have an '08 9-3 with an SID2 (I believe) It has the main mileage on the left side of the SID, there is a second number exactly in line with the main mileage on the right of the SID.
I thought it was the trip computer or similar, but it doesn't change when I reset everything.

What is it (and can it be reset)?

Thanks

There are Autoleads cables for the audio unit.

But if you feel rich, there is this

Hmm  ;D

Saab 9000 (1984-1998) / Re: Emptying Fuel Tank
« on: 09 February 2013, 03:00:27 PM »
Tried several things today, firing up the pump with the ignition doesn't work, it pumps for a few seconds (to prime it?) then stops, presumably waiting for the engine management to fire it up again.

Eventually settled for disconnecting the fuel line at the fuel rail (it was the hose on top with a union joint) and using a 12V battery to directly power the pump.
This meant I had anything that could produce sparks etc at the opposite end of the car from where we would get the fuel. Bit of a pain but the pump took ages (at least 10 mins) to fill a 20 litre Jerry can.

The photo shows the two connector pins I used to fire the pump up. The second set of pins closer to the camera are for the fuel level sender

But unlike the early version, it's a fully wired system, so it can be changed reasonably easily.

That's the bit that sounds good :)

Provided I can get some adapter cables etc like I did for my 9000 I'll change if for the other head unit I have.

Can anyone tell me what version of the installed audio system this is?

Is/are there any audio systems that can be fitted that will allow 'proper' control of an iPod instead of just an Aux jackplug?

Thanks

Does anyone know how much a second spare 'key' is, and can it be programmed so you have a permanent spare?

Has anyone found any benefits or disadvantages to running the higher priced diesel fuels?

I always used the above versions of petrol in my 9000 Aero and in return I got better fuel economy.

I am about to take delivery of a 9-3 diesel and I'm interested in any pro's and con's (other than price ) with these fuels.

For better or worse I never use any supermarket stuff as my two nearest garages (both on the way home) are Shell and BP

Thanks

If my car has a DPF fitted, will it just be in the exhaust in place of where you would normally see a CAT of petrol versions?

Thanks

9-3 ttid  180 :)

Have to be a little more practical (economically) speed was great, but bills for fuel etc were getting out of hand.

Had the 9000 for 12 years so it will be sad to see it go. :'(

Saab 9000 (1984-1998) / Emptying Fuel Tank
« on: 06 February 2013, 07:13:24 PM »
As my '97 9000 is now dead, and the fuel tank was brimmed the day before. I'd like to empty the fuel tank to use in the other cars.

Has anyone ever taken the fuel rail etc apart?

Which of the two fuel lines attached to the rail is the best to use?

Thanks

Eventual diagnosis...

Oil pump appears to have failed causing the turbo to blow. Between them this has emptied all the water and a lot of the oil in one go.
The bottom end also sounds bad.

Game Over  :'(

It will be at Abbot Racing soon if anyone is after Saab 9000 Aero parts
