Rear window washer

My rear window washer does not work. On pressing the button I cant hear the pump, is this the button/wiring problem ?

I'm not sure how the washer works on a 9-3.  On the early 9-5 the water came up through the centre spindle of the wiper arm.  This rusted and blocked.  Yours isn't just frozen up is it?

A common problem is a plugged check valve.  The check valve for the rear wiper is down near the washer pump behind the front left mud shield.
