My take on the week's major event, while spreading the word.

Very informative Chris. I sincerely hope that all this has irritated GM. Slightly O/T, I have not heard any further news lately that GM were going to pull the plug on Opel.

Latest I've read is somewhat of a U-Turn, in that GM are ditching Chevrolet in Europe to save the Opel brand (and in a small way, recompense Vauxhall's debts).

Have discovered more, and it is not good reading for Holden.  :o

The end of Holden - another of my articles.

Confirmed this morning that Holden is to cease manufacture. A very sad day indeed.

Yep - v sad. We found out yesterday in letter from wife's best friend in Aus. Her husband worked for Holden and has been told he's unemployed! 1,000 job losses where he worked.

Had a good look again at the pics. Very pleased to see a nice meaty grille to protect the air conditioning condensor. After suffering stone damage to my current 9-3 just before one of our caravanning hols in the summer, I have since made and fitted a grille. Cannot understand why there was no grille fitted to the cars; my lad's Evo has one, and many other makes too.
The front fog surrounds look lovely, and I do like the businesslike front end of the face-lifted 9-3. A year and a few days after buying this one I still like looking at its reflection in the rear of cars in front..... (sad I know)

Checked the SU website yesterday and was pleased to see the Xmas greetings - nice touch. Check it most days now with all the excitement of the news. However, it seems to have gone down and I am now experiencing withdrawal symptoms.

Back up now. Relief.

There was a newsletter from Hirsch today talking about starting up fabrication of some their old lines in support/celebration of the new cars.

In case there is interest.

Yes.  I had the same newsletter sent to me.  There is hope that the aftermarket will be encouraged to continue.
