Correct DI cassette
« on: 06 March 2015, 09:28:54 AM »
I have a spare black DI cassette I use to carry around in my 9000 which ha now moved to my 57 plate 9.5.
Can anyone tell me if this DI cassette is OK for this engine.

Many thanks

If the TK number on the end is 3.5 or greater, it will work.

I think you need TK 3.6 on the latest cars to get the full error code feedback.  Not 100% sure on that point though.

Latest part number is 55559955, but one or two earlier numbers work fully too.

I've found a list of the other part numbers.

9187980 is the early one that probably won't work.  It's for 1998-1999.

30583218 should be OK from 2000-2005.
9197559 should also be OK.  From the same era.  May even be the same as the one above.

55559955 is current.  2006-2010

55562588 is also listed as 2006-2010.  It's later than 55559955, but it is also shown as being replaced by 55559955.  Possibly a supplier change? And then back again?  Times were difficult back then...

TK3.4D and above is fine for anything 00- and onwards (earlier TK numbers *might* be OK on some later B205E models), all later modules can be used on earlier cars. What enables the full enhanced diagnostics is any Trionic 7 ECU from mid 2003 onwards and this enhanced diagnostics can be programmed into earlier Trionic 7 ECUs as long as they are an LEV variant (so, MY00 onwards, possibly only B235 in MY00), so you'd already need to have a TK3.4D module (or better).
