Dream Saab?
« on: 27 June 2011, 01:26:20 PM »
If money was no object, what would be your dream Saab?

I hanker after one of these (only six officially made):

(It's a Saab Sonett Super Sport, also known as the Saab 94.  Some people call it a Saab Sonett I)

I think for models that exist and were built then I'd quite like a 92. If I can choose out of anything including concepts then an Aero-X would be what I'd take :)

Or maybe more practically (and hopefully in a few years) an NG9-5 Aero wagon

A 9-3 Aero cabriolet and NG9-5 Aero SportsWagon.

Both fully Hirsch'd up. See http://inside.saab.com/hirsch-performance-saab-9-5/

I'm with John on this.  That new Hirsched 9-5 would be just the thing for a trip to the sun.  Malaga/ Naples or wherever. :)

A bit big though.  Maybe the new 9-3 will have something similar.  Something to think about if we do become a one car household.

Dream SAAB would be a late 99 Combi Coupe, with a 90 interior and the last of the 900 Turbo drive trains.

Add in a more modern fuel injection system ala T5 or T7 and it'd be a hoot to drive, easy to keep up and would terrorize many of the local boy racers.

A brand new fully specced MY2004 9-5 Aero Sedan with all Hirsch Upgrades + XWD + better auto gearbox + Tomtom built-in satnav + integrated mp3 player and bluetooth + better soundproofing from wind and wheel noise. That's all I need.

Using that as a precedent  - I'd love a brand new 1991 slopey front 9000 2.3 Carlsson. Think I'd go for the saloon.  8) 8)
