Hello and welcome!

What spec plugs are in there already?  It is recommended to replace with the same type.

I'd be inclined to go with NGK BCPR7ES-11 on that engine. Replace all four.

I'll kick it off.

(Luther had an ovloV 244 in the first series and a 744 in the second.)

Stating the obvious, but ensure that it is properly engaged in Park or Neutral before turning the key.  It will not start if lever in any other position.

I could get an auto started on the way on holiday once, so took the other car.   All it was was this.  Oops.

If that doesn't work then its something more serious.

There is a way to stop a crack.  Drill a hole at the end of the crack and then it has nowhere to go!  Ingenious when you think about it.  This was demonstrated on Tomorrow's World back in the early 1980s, IIRC, using perspex under stress to show the pattern of stress with a crack and with the crack terminated at each end using a hole.  The technique was used undersea on oil rigs.

Of course, this is not practical on instruments cover, therefore you'd probably be better putting in a telephone call to Kevin at Parts ASAP down in Bristol, tomorrow.  They might have one from a breaker that you could have.  They'll want money in exchange, though.

Hope you get it fixed.

Honest John in The Saturday Telegraph often bemoans broken coil springs on modern Euroboxes which he attributes to the way the spring are manufactured and cut at the ends.  It is a very common problem, it seems.

Never realised Saab would give you new ones free?

Someone mentioned this site recently and I just did a search.

Can anyone spot the problem with the data that query returns?

Good luck guys.
Looking on the bright side, if we all got a second chance of a new life i'm sure we would make it better, no matter how good it was before.
And it was good.

Parked under a tree last night. Birds living in that tree have serious dietary problems, most of which ended up on the bonnet and headlamp.

Resorted to an entrepreneurial chap on a former petrol station forecourt.  ...and he dud an excellent job of cleaning the car.

£2.00

Bargain.

But it does mean two cleans within a 12 month period.

I looked into this a couple of years ago. I was unable to identify which Brembo discs hirsch was using. They like to keep that information to themselves.

Perhaps if each contributor is limited to one scrolling message per every 10,000 quality posts, I think it will work very well.  ;D

If you know (or can find) the Saab part number of the Saab Park Assist (SPA) for your car, then you can download complete fitting instructions from www.saabdocs.com
