Insurance again
« on: 27 November 2012, 11:47:32 AM »
My insurer has sold their business and the new outfit claim to knowing nothing about the car being modified and so are being a bit difficult to say the least.

Can anyone suggest a good insurer for a lightly modified 9000?

Thanks.

I had that a couple of years ago with Aviva...

I'm now with Chris Knott  http://www.chrisknott.co.uk

But have a go on an online comparison site and see what you get.  CK will beat your other quote (usually)  There's also a discount, if you are an SOC member, as they run the Saab Owners Club insurance scheme.

Greenlight, specialise in modified insurance.

But there are others that advertise in the SOC magazine.  Peter Best, Adrian Flux, LV, etc.

Thanks sgould.  We used to use Chris Knott, but they got rather expensive.  Time to try them again perhaps.  Thanks for the leads.

CK's rates do seem to have improved this year. I stopped using them a few years back when they couldn't offer me a comparable deal.

They're now offering to to my 9-5 Aero with mods for £300- but that's not a huge difference on what I can get it for via GoCompare, with Admiral coming in at £334.
