allows a handsfree like a parrot to be added to the nav unit to give bluetooth, AUX, etc integration, it is also called a saab26tel by some suppliers

Hi I have just bought a 2009 SAAB 9.5 Aero wirh Denso satnav and Parrot CK3100 installed, will this piece of kit let me have an input for my mp3 player or how do I bluetooth my phone to play music??Thanks

sgould:
To play mp3 you need an aux input.  I dont thing that the Saab26tel will do this on its own. It would seem to be only for the connection of the streaming versions of the Parrot and similar.  So you will need to upgrade the Parrot to something suitable. There's abrief description of the Saab26tel here: https://www.justcarkits.co.uk/acatalog/saab26tel.html#SID=129

The Denso satnav is not the best these days, it's basically 16 years old.  If you don't need the satnav, the non-satnav radio in the 9-5 came with an aux connection, you could fit one of those.  Or better still upgrade to a modern radio that has FM/AM/DAB/DVD/Bluetooth/Aux, etc....

mechnowhiz:
Hi thanks for the reply, no dont use the satnav as there is no up to date data disc!!  Just had a look on evilbay and at only £40 or there abouts,  that looks like the answer and fit that with my Parrot.  Thank You for guidance!! :) :) :)

sgould:
If you fit an radio unit, you will need to modify one of the connectors. The Denso has three 16 pin ones and the radio has one 16 pin and one 14 pin connector.  See if you can get a head unit with a bit of loom.

There are different head units, you need the one that works with the existing amp.  And there's no connection for any CD changer in the boot.  If you want lots of CDs, get the head unit with the 6CD changer.
