As the song say's 'Things can only get better..................................' having seen it now off the ground I am dead chuffed to say "I've got Hirsch suspension - wahoo" and that's why it's a little firmer so my next quest is to see if indeed I have Hirsch power upgrade as it does go rather well!!!!!!!
C'mon Jim, we need to know!

Slightly off topic, but still about diesels and power, and while we're waiting for news from Jim - my neighbour (really nice bloke, although half my age) was telling me about his impending new company motor. Mercedes AMG E class, he says. I said the business must be doing well, imagining several litres of V8 and escape velocity acceleration.
The reality seen a few days later is a 220 diesel, the AMG bit is just trim, cabin extras, and low profile tyres. The engine only has 170bhp, and although more torque (400 v my 360) than my Hirsched 2.3t, my 9-5 beats it in every other way. Except fuel consumption :(

Three cheers for the grey pound!

Look at my avatar Geoff......................................... 8)

Guess what they found when it went in for Saab Service Club £9.99 software update?????..................................................it appears Tech2 knows the software has been changed but it doesn't say what. Technician did some checking with Hirsch against VIN number and sure as hell it had the upgrade 3 years back!!!!

Better tell insurers and see what they sting me for! Shame dealer I bought from didn't know as he could have got more for it. Oh dear though - he's paying for new xenon loom/leveller for rear.............he did agree to this but I've kept sch-tum about Hirsch stuff.

Hirsch will give you a free silver one if you ask.  And as long as they haven't already issued one against that VIN number.

Discovered that mine was remapped after I bought it. Also had the DPF removed, but in a "butchering" fashion, rather than the "stealth" mode, so I could be in for an exhaust replacement come MoT time!

Depends on where you go. Some MOT testing stations are stricter than others.

I told that the ones in my avatar are stuck on a bit too low.  But I've seen pictures of them all over the place!

Pretty sure that my remap wasn't done by an Elk.

Feels more like a Jack Russell on lino most of the time!

Must get new front tyres...

According to an article in the 13 - 19 November edition of Auto Express removing the particulate filter invalidates your insurance as it is a modification to increase performance  and contravenes  Construction & Use Regulation 61A.

Indeed. Honest John in the Telegraph frequently warns his correspondents - who suggest doing this - against doing so on that legal basis.
