I keep seeing adverts for heated seat covers - not sure if they are any good - I think Halford stock them - might be worth a look..

I had mine get rusty due to water ingress and it failed. It happened in the cold weather and the car became undrivable due to condensation. Its definitely worth getting on top of in case it goes

I think they were about ?350. I had a quick google and I don't think they make them any more. There are a few lookalikes, similar sort of price.

This looks a bit cheaper: https://www.saabplanet.com/diy-saab-9-3-peeling-door-handle-fix/

I bought a hirsch leather set for my old 93. They definitely elevated the old rubberised handles. Iirc, they were just a shell that snapped over the handle mount with the leather glued over - I think (it was a long while back) there was a single screw to remove/loosen the handle for proper access. I've seen users on other forums removing the old rubber skin and re-rubberising or adding films. I also had a leather parking brake handle - that was a complete handle swap.

Ime, it was jabbing the buttons with long nails that damaged the buttons. I imagine if you leave her in the sun all the time that could cause a lot of damage (just guessing). If its just you driving (and short nails  :o ), and perhaps put the air fresheners on the vent int he rear, I honestly think you'll be ok.

I imagine it would reflect on the screen. When they changed to the silver trim strips around the dash there were quite a few moans on the forums about it at the time. That binnacle is much more extreme.

I am pretty sure there were users carbon wrapping their dash on other forums. And the decor strips. And hirsch had a leather dash surround and, iirc, carbon trim pieces. I had a set for the gear surround. You could try googling for some ideas.

;D That was me, the guy with the smiley face car avatar and the cracked plug

Well I swapped whole set of coil packs back to my original set today. Quick spin, and the issue is still there, specifically at 2500rpm in 4th gear on accelerating. Feels like 3 quick jolts in a row.

I'd be unfortunate if I had two sets of dodgy coil packs, so wondering if it is the plugs as has been mentioned. I need to check when they were last replaced, and what with......

Still no EML showing, but I only have a cheap code reader that is unlikely to tell me much if there isn't a light showing. Might give it a go later.

When I had this issue, I actually had a cracked plug - you could see it was knackered. The EML only flashed/kicked in while it was misfiring and then went straight off. Like you, accelerating hard in 4th gear.

I imagine it could be a misfire. Spark plugs and coil packs are a common cause.

Can you drill out the rivets? A rivet gun is pretty inexpensive and easy to use.

Whatever broke the window couldn't have fallen from the sky could it?

Yeah, I guess. The reason I mention is that misfires can come across as jerking/banging and are more likely when pulling hard, say up a hill or hard acceleration. You have a lot of miles. Reasonable to expect plugs and coil packs to get pretty tired with so many miles on the clock if they haven't been changed recently. At least that was my experience (I thought it was the transmission when it happened to me). But I was getting the CEL flashing on yellow.

Now then, recently, I have noticed that when the car is approaching lock up, around 70kmh, sometimes I get a 1 second ‘rumble/shudder’ from the front end…I believe this may be to do with the torque converter and may be starting to slip? Certainly with just me in the car it has not thrown a code….….but fully loaded, going uphill it threw the code which seems to suggest it’s starting to slip….I think. I have of course researched this and have found good reviews on 'Lubegard Shudder fixx’ anyone used this/experiences for a short term fix?

That sounds a bit like a misfire. Does the engine light flash while its doing this?
