2006 9-3 Aero
« on: 27 December 2017, 10:40:50 AM »
Well when the weather gets a bit better, and I get the chance to perhaps wash and polish the car, I may try to get some better pics. But for the moment, these are some pics I have of what Santa got me for Xmas (with a little help from myself, of course ;) as he couldn't fit it in the sleigh!!).......

Ooh look...I've never had a turbo gauge on any car I've had before :D Mind you, none of them bar a Zafira diesel had a turbo!!!! And that didn't need a gauge :D

Sadly, the gauge is a bit of a fake!  It does measure the "engine load" and is a measure of an ECU calculation.  But it's not connected directly to the inlet air.  So it's not a boost gauge.  It can be used for some diagnostics, but I can't remember what. ::)

Your car is very beautiful. I like it a lot. It is a very good car. I think you can take care of it.

Like that but will look a lot better with your new Saab centre caps (assuming they fit)!

Thanks Kev, yeah I hope so. The jury is still out on the alloys. I keep wondering whether to put it back on a set of standard Saab 17" alloys.....but then I look at these and quite like them. They need a refurb at some point as they are all scuffed, and one has corrosion too, so debating whether to refurb and keep the anthracite colour, or change them to silver......

Any thoughts on whether I should retain the anthracite colour for the alloys?

I was toying with changing them to silver when refurbed, but having seen other alloys in this colour without scuffs, I'm thinking of retaining the colour........ maybe.....

Just need some guidance from the Saab fraternity ;)

Holy Cow!

That looks like the same snow we had here, a few weeks back; hard to think of that now as its absolutely glorious outside (but I'm on night shift  :-\  and not enjoying it much)

Personally I'm no fan of Anthracite colour wheels.
Yes they don't show the dirt (or damage), but if you are up to spending time cleaning, polishing and re-sealing wheels then I'm of the opinion that properly reconditioned wheels with a very bright and large flake in the paint finish look utterly stunning in the sun, and when  on a gleaming car.  8) 8) 8)

Well I've had the boy 4 months now, and with all the poor weather - wind, rain, ice, snow, salt, grit etc, I hadn't had a chance to give him a good wash and polish, other than run him through the car wash a couple of times.

Well, today was the day, when I was going to try and do it properly.....and so I did!!!

Found various imperfections I hadn't seen before, but otherwise, this black paint really came up a treat....and the tired and faded plastic trims benefitted from a good dose of Autoglym Bumper Care, possibly for the first time in a long time :)

I didn't do much with the wheels other than wash them, as they really do need a decent refurb, but at least they are cleaner. When I finally get round to putting those Saab centre caps on, it will just finish them off nicely.

See what you think...
