Winter tyres falling apart...

I changed the 235/45 18 winter tyres and wheels on the Carlsson yesterday for the summer tyres and wheels.
The tread on the winter tyres is breaking up about an inch in form the outer edge. Front tyres only. Looks like some sort of delamination and or melting, as some block seem to be solid with no sipes.
Any ideas?

My Nokian WRG2's have done the same.
I think it is just toe-in scrub when on warn dry roads.

I had similar when running WRG2 over a summer as I didn't have the funds to buy some summer tyres, didn't seem to appreciably reduce the life span.

The compound is different, obviously, which means they are operating out of their design range
They overheat, resulting in loss of grip and other adverse effects......
Just imagine you are in an F1 car, on wets, and the track just dried out
