My thanks to both Audax and S Gould for their suggestions.
I am about to go and give the EGR a clean as suggested by Audax, however I'm not sure how to clean the inlet manifold. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
I'm Just hoping its not the swirl flaps as the car has only done 59k miles and by what I've read is a very expensive repair.
Thank again all

Hi all
My 2007 model 93 Tid150 estate has developed another issue which I'll do my best to articulate as it is currently an intermittent problem. Sometimes when starting the engine (usually when its fully warmed up) it starts but the engine really shakes around on its mountings before stopping after a couple of seconds. It then starts without any problem and runs fine.
I was wondering whether its likely to be a starter motor problem (ie staying engaged) or something else.
As usual thanks in advance for your help.

Eddie.

Took it to Jonsaab (independent Saab garage in Poole) today who plugged into the Tech2 "internal fault on airbag control unit" he cleared the fault and the warning has now disappeared. I haven't learnt anything as to what caused it so not totally happy but at least the bing bong has stopped.

Hi all, i was driving along in my MY 2007 93 sportwagon then all of a sudden the SID chimed and the display had a warning "Airbag malfunction contact service" message. Anybody any ideas where I start with this issue?
Thanks in advance

My thanks to Audax and sgould, checked price for LED repair kit from local dealer £216. Finished up with one manufactured in 2011 from Saab Parts ASAP for £109.80 delivered. Thanks again gents.

Thanks Audax and sgould for your comments, do you know whether the leak I have on the joint between the hydraulic hoses and the steering rack is common? Are the seals "O" rings or something more elaborate?
Thanks again

I bought my MY2007 Tid150 estate when it was some 30 months old with 14.5k miles. Since then I've had DMF at 20k (warranty), alternator at 30k, replaced the front springs, cleaned the EGR and MAP sensor numerous times and still if I don't fully warm it up the engine management light comes on. It has a slight hesitancy around 2000 rpm most noticeable when the engines has been warmed up and allowed to partially cool before restarting, it's not too bad when fully warmed up but still there. New water pump when cam belt changed at 5 years (yes it was leaking slightly) It had a new AC condenser at around 45k now I have a slight leak on the steering rack which I think are the seals on the hydraulic pipes (anybody had this?) and the near side rear LED light doesn't work which I think thanks to sgould I know the answer to (is this common?) It's now done some 55k miles and while I still like the car I'm getting a bit fed up with the £200 - £300 problems every year. Is the typical for Saab owners? Any help with any of the outstanding issues would be gratefully received.
Thanks all.

Thanks again for all of this information sgould, would it be possible to PM you as there are several things I would like to ask as I don't know whether I have a typical Saab or a problematic one and its probably not yet a question for the forum?

My grateful thanks to sgould for his very valuable information. Is the diagram from the WIS or somewhere else? Is there a technical description of how the rear/brake lights work?
Thanks again

Eddie

Thanks so much for your quick response Audax, when you say repair kits, is this for the LEDs or is it for the REC? From what I've read and there doesn't appears to be much info around; Saab use a some clever electronics to switch between rear lights and brake lights, do you know whether there is one of these units on each light cluster or just one unit in the REC?

Hi All,
The nearside rear light on my 2007 estate has stopped working, I believe they use the same LEDs as the brake light which works fine.
When I put the lights on the nearside one comes on very briefly and then goes off, all of the other lights come on.
Anybody any idea on where to start to fix this?

Thanks again

Eddie

Thanks Audax,
I pulled the cover and all of the connectors are the same and have blue locking tabs (picture attached), does this mean I have the modified connectors?
From what I've read on Vauxhall forums the original connectors have yellow locking clips while the modified ones are blue and not so "open".
Assuming I have the modified connectors what else causes a misfire between 1500 - 2000 rpm and a "stutter" when gently applying the throttle after say rolling down a hill with your foot off the throttle? I've cleaned the MAP sensor and EGR valve.
This is the first diesel I've owned and it's getting to me, the sad thing is I really love the car.

Thanks

Hi, first post so be gentle, I have a 2006 (facelift model) 93 sportwagon with the 1.9 Tid 150 engine that has started having an intermittent misfire between 1500 & 2000 rpm.
I was wondering whether this may be related to the No. 3 injector wiring and whether my car has a modified wiring loom.
Anybody any idea of the engine number when/if this was modified?
Would this be the same as the Vauxhall engine number?

Thanks
