starting issues
« on: 15 February 2014, 02:05:14 PM »
2006 9.3-- starts great, run for about 45-60 miles of travel, turn off long enough to fill fuel tank approx. 6-7 minutes, wont immediately restart, wait 6-7 minutes fires up fine.  Thought it was the battery, installed new one. Same result. there are no indicator lights lit, no other issues.  Any suggestions as to what is going on?

Welcome! :)

Assuming that this is a petrol engined car?

Hot starting problems are usually down to a failing crankshaft position sensor.  You can try a resistance check.  It should lie between 770 ohms and 950 ohms.  Which is the same as the 9-5, but the sensor is slightly different.

A good reading of resistance is not necessarily a sign of a good CPS, but a reading out of range, or near the limit, would indicate a problem.

Under the engine cover on the end of the engine.
