I just had a look at routes. There are still no ferry routes operating to Scandanavia at the moment, I used to take the Harwich to Esbjerg route as well as Gothenburg. The Esbjerg route closed 6 years ago.

It's a long way round from my neck of the woods, especially when Newcastle and Esbjerg are pretty much on the same latitude so just a quick hop across the North Sea, sort of......

Yes, we are only an hour and a half from Folkestone.  If you go, I suppose that P&O Hull-Rotterdam is your best bet.

There's a campaign to get the Harwich Esbjerg ferry back, and there have been promises, but nothing has materialised.

Yes, a shame.  We were combining it with a longer holiday and a visit to a friend of my wife's in Northern Jutland.

So is your trip cancelled, or are you having the slightly shorter, longer holiday followed by a couple of weeks internment

Nope!  If there is a two week quarantine at each border crossing, I would have needed to have left last week to get there in time!

UK-France
France-Belgium
Belgium- NL
NL-Germany
Germany-Denmark

So 10 weeks.  Eight if I go round and avoid NL.  Then I would be home by October...
