Wait 1st you said “because you're not supposed to clean a MAF” then you said “don't need to take it apart”.  Really?  Have you seen one on a 2007 Aero?  Or any other car for that matter?

The MAF, mass air flow sensor is located on the air inlet. This sensor tells the computer the condition of the air flowing into the engine.  There are two common types of mass airflow sensors,   vane meter and the hot wire.

To clean it you need to take it out of the assembly so you can spray the sensor.
Saab mechanics clean these all the time.  The MAF on a 2007 Aero is located right behind the front grill.  Just make sure you use a can of MAF cleaner and let it dry complexly before reassemble.

Here are a pic or the sensor and the assembly.

Sorry if I insulted you but we are here to help each other. Telling someone you can’t clean it or improperly clean it does not help anyone.

This is a fairly easy task.  Just be careful and don’t tighten the sensor down too much.  Remember you are screwing into plastic.

My neighbor is a mechanic.  He has been cleaning them for years.  If you know what you’re doing there are no issues.

Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF) security screws.

I love it when manufactures make it so complicated.

I went to clean my Mass Air Flow Sensor today and fond a specially security screws attaching it.  It’s a 5 point (not the normal 6 point) security star.  Good luck finding that bit anywhere.

I took it off with a small channel locks and replaced the 2 screws with 10 x 1 Phillip with a built in washer.  Now I can clean it again very easily.

I am looking for an extended warranty on my 07 Aero.

Anyone can recommend a company?

Why do you like them and how much did you pay?

Was it worth it?

I don’t believe it is that simple.  I spent a lot of time doing a Google search on it and it creates havoc.  Those that moved the battery to the trunk found that out right away.  This little device is over 200 bucks and it can stop your car from starting even if it is not tripped.

I had a bad battery and most likely this switch.  A load test came out the battery was good but was just a little low on charge.  After charging it up overnight I still had same issues of running very bad.  This just happened after the car sat for a couple weeks.  Also this battery was the 2nd “Interstate” battery that went bad in less than 4 years.

I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER “INTERSTATE” BATTERY AGAIN!

What’s inside the black box on Pos battery terminal (Battery Main Switch)?

Most likely I have a going bad Battery Main Switch.  It looks like a coil and a resistor.
Does anyone have a schematic for this Battery Main Switch or know what components are inside.

I am in need of some new tires for my Aero.

I know there are a lot of post on tires but tires change all the time.

I currently run “Continental Extreme Contact” 235/45 7R 17.

I love them but they wear out way too fast.

What do you guys run and how long to they last?

Soft brakes/ loss of brakes

Here is an interesting one.  Lately while pulling out of the garage and applying the brake I have only about 10% braking power.  I have to apply very hard to stop.  It is like my brakes were wet.  I also have a very small decline on my driveway so I am not building up any speed.

This is very random and only happens maybe once of month while baking out of the garage.  It is only while baking out of the garage.  Once I get going my brakes are fine and I have no issues until it happens again.

Any ideas?  I check the pads on all four wheels, I still have plenty of material left.  I checked the brake reservoir and it is full.
