Something wrong there frank.

That sounds like one of the other options of auto locking when key out of ignition which they asked if I wanted and reply was definate no no.

Mine auto locks on moving off and unlocks when key taken out but has never ever auto locked when stationary (engine running or not).

The one I have only does just that but the one they've done on yours is a security lock for when key is out of ignition to auto lock. They've made a slight c**k up

Trouble is there are so many options in the locking set - up as I'm sure phoenix will tell you.

There's an option to lock the car after a certain time whether moving or not.

My dealer told me that he had not set it. And refused to do it on any car they sold unless the owner insisted. They did it in the past and it caused no end of problems for owners. Usually the auto locking when left unattended would only happen in unusual circumstances - frequently this was first noticed when loading the car before going on holiday!!

Aye, I don't have auto locking (which freaks me out...) but the tailgate always locks itself in an irritatingly short time.

I'm happy with it especially when travelling on my own through cities in heavy traffic when I may have briefcase or something on drivers seat that would be easy to nick if someone opened door quick. My memory isn't that brill so i would invariably forget to push the button to lock.

I have never had any problems with this - and yes the tailgate locking itself after a short while freaks my passengers out and dog when he's in back - but you know its locked!

This is exactly what happened. I was loading the car to go camping the next day and have it all ready.

Made out of toughened glass - ha ha.

Mine is actually called a glass hammer - stupid I know but..................

I actaully have a Pyran scale rule that has been dropped form quite a heigth without even marking (made dent in floor tile) it. Glass is actually a very strong material!

Hi JIm.
I knew that! A bit like eggshells, all about lines of stress, etc.

Pyran? WikiGoogle's a bit thin there. A type of toughened glass AFICT?

Pyran is made by Schott glass. Most people would recognise it from the glass oven dishes called pyrex. Cermic hob tops are mdae from the stuff which is a borasilica glass that can withstand high temperatures before deforming. Pyre meaning 'fire' (if I've spelt that correct). There are various makes of glass by different glass companies .Names such as pyrobel, pyrastop and so on but Pyran is the best. I've used the stuff in sealed units in conservatories on boundaries but it is v expensive being about £195 / sq m in a unit.

ANything else you'd like to know about glass: such as how to bend it and stress it out???  8)

That's enough info, thanks Jim!

(But there's got to be a joke about stressing it out.)

There are lots of other things too such as:

- changin the wheel/tyre size for speedo accuracy
- how far the boost gauge moves

I'll see if I can dig them out
My speedo is reading fast, so I tried to change the tyre size to 16" as it was set to 15", yet the car did not want to keep the change (it also asks you to choose which make of tyre you are running).  I will have a few more tries to see what I can figure out.

EDIT - the settings for tyre size are -
15"
16"
17"
18"
Manual

I calculated the size for 16" and used manual, and even though the settings seems to stay on 15", it seems to keep the setting, either as 16" or manual, so all I have to do is a test drive now!

Yeah, bought one off ebay - and nine-fiver, I will be down in melbourne in 2 weeks if you need to have anything Tech 2'd...
BTW - my speedo is now exact, my door locking is all how I like it, and no stupid seatbelt audiable warning!
will next be applying the software update to my TCM that is available.
