Hi Guys.

As the title suggests I have an issue with my EML illuminating. Basically i'm looking to sell the car, and can only do so when all faults are fixed. The car has been in the garage 3 times now. Once for diagnostics (£27.50), once to rewire the radiator cooling fan relay (£180) and yesterday for a new cooling fan relay (£201). Yesterday they mentioned that another code was present, water in fuel filter, so that was drained. I drove off and no EML... Until this morning, and it's back on!!! As you can imagine, i'm pretty livid at having spent over £400 on this with nothing resolved. My first thought is to take it straight back to the garage, and speak to management. But at the same time, i don't really want to deal with them as they have messed me about and happily took money from me without resolving the problem.

Do you think if i changed the filter for a new one, this would resolve the water in fuel, or do i need to have the tank drained? I believe this is the first time that code has come up. As for the fan relay, i'm at a loss....

Regards

Audax

Are they Saab specialists or not? If they are then take it back and tell them to sort it for free, if they aren't then ask for a refund as they have not fixed it (and probably can't) and take it to a specialist or dealer.

Did they clear the code after doing the work?
