Melett CHRA TD04HL-15T
« on: 13 January 2021, 07:55:49 AM »
Hi, anyone know how to line up the marks on an already balanced Melett CHRA TD04HL-15T? There are black ink markings on the compressor wheel and a ground down nut on the hot side, do I align these up before putting red lock tight on the thread and tightening the compressor wheel nut up ?. Cheers

I'm a little confused. If the CHRA is already balanced, then both wheels are already in position and dynamically balanced. Or have you dismantled it ?

Correct, I undid compressor bolt to add red locktight, and compressor wheel spun, it is not too tight on the shaft.

If you didn't mark it, then I'm not sure there is a fixed position to align to.

The other end with the ground nut is I think the more important end, the wheels themselves are fairly close I think.

Chat with supplier, assemble as you see fit, or get it rebalanced.

I was doing a rebuild with new seals.... it seems that the dynamic balance is  very much the final polish
