1993 Saab 900 turbo distributor
« on: 07 January 2021, 11:18:05 AM »
I am working on a 93 900 turbo with a distributor leaking oil internally.  I would like to find a used to rebuild, then swap out, but have been unsuccessful.  My fear is disassembling the original distributor only to have parts (especially wires) crumble and be stuck.

I see the 1994 and later that use this type of distributor appear to have the same physical configuration...being electronic. Are they interchangeable?

Does anyone have knowledge if and/or which bosch distributors and/or bodies can be interchanged?  Further are there replacement parts available should I proceed with the removal and rebuild?

Any and all information is appreciated

Welcome! :)

Bill Jones runs www.saabits.com in the UK.  He is knowledgeable about the older Saabs.  He would know the availability of parts, and he ships worldwide.  Definitely worth contacting him.

There is also https://www.esaabparts.com which is based in the US.  It is located inside the Saab Heritage Car Museum.  They would also have the info you need. The museum is closed to the public at the moment. https://www.saabmuseumusa.com
