Today I have been mostly..... changing the handbrake

It quite rapidly deteriorated where it would not stay engaged, and a movement in the car would be enough to knock it off

The handle itself seemed to be able to move side to side more than expected, so, having one one the shelf I did a swapover

Here's a photo of the two. I suspect that the previous owner liked to hear the click of engaging the handbrake, but maybe one of the rivets has weakened as well as the pawl did not seem properly engaged

Anyway, all done now, I replaced the handbrake gaiter & fitted the gear lever one properly the top part having become detached from the pull up sleeve
