SU are now reporting interest for SAAB from BMW.....

Not sure exactly how much truth there may be in this rumor.

Mind you can see why SAAB may make sense as it could become BMW's Skoda.

It has surprised me there was no apparent interest from any of the Germans. Or the Koreans for that matter

I thought that Saab would be an ideal fit for Honda.  They struggle with selling anything bigger than a Civic.  The Accord sells a few and the Legend has been invisible for years.  They sell the big stuff in America as "Acuras".  But Saab for the top end would have done them.

Lexus are just about acceptable in Europe now, but it took Toyota around 20 years to get there.

Oooh!

I'd love a new 9-5 with the BMW 3 litre twin turbo engine in it (petrol or diesel it doesn't matter).

Yes, you may think BMW would be a good fit, but you will never get BMW donating a platform for Saab to then engineer for itself.

Trollhatten would be merely a production facility to keep the impression that saab was still "Swedish", and everything else would be done by BMW in Munich...... And all the Saab engineers would defect to Volvo and anyone else :-o

Just look at Rolls Royce and MINI......  :o

As long as the workers have some work to do the Swedish government will be able to say that they have a successful solution and that they were right all along.

Maybe wind generators would be a better bet.....
