This is a cold start from our 9-3.

Anyone know if this is a 'normal' amount of smoke.

Just haven't owned a diesel in a while.

Doesn't look too bad to me. Mine always has a puff of smoke when mine starts from cold (9-5 TiD), though mine has had the DPF bypassed so not sure how much difference that will make.

My last car was a diesel, depending on where I bought my fuel from would make the car smoke more or less

My brother has a Vectra 1.9 CDTI and tells me that his does the same, so I imagine it's okay as the car starts with no problems.

You can probably also hear from the video that the Aux belt makes a bit of a swooshing noise when the car is cold......it was replaced about 2K ago at Oxford Saab (72K service), but I have had a load of cars that have done that over the years.
