Electrical fault
« on: 23 August 2016, 06:25:00 AM »
Hi, I have a 2005 Saab 9-3 earo 2.8v6. When I take the key out and lock up the Sid light and all the lights on the radio stay on. Getting worried this may flatten my battery in time. Has anyone got any ideas to what is causing this or how to fix it?
Thanks

you could try disconnecting the battery for 20 mins...always worth a go as a first step in fixing electrical gremlins...next step is to check the battery....

It could be several things, some of the favourites for that year of car are software updates for the BCM and CIM which are both electronic units that control how the various modules in the car stay awake. You can try the battery disconnect as the first port of call though.

Thank you, I will try the battery disconnection first. Failing that I may book it in for a service and get them to do a software update.
Thanks again
