The TiD models, the Aero and the Viggen were all fitted with the crossflow intercooler (air in on one side and out the other).

The 2.0t (154bhp T5/ 150bhp T7 lpt), 2.0T (185bhp T5/T7) and 2.0 SE Sport HOT (2.0T 200bhp T5) were all fitted with a dual-pass intercooler (air in and out on one side, so air has to do a 180deg turn at one end of the intercooler)

The crossflow intercooler used on Aero, Viggen and TiD models is more efficient.

.

If I owned a Windows computer...

It's not worth it. But if you did want to try, you could probably do it using boot camp, VMware, parallels or virtual box?

I can't believe it has taken you almost ten months to point out that error.  ;)  Now you've spotted it, I've corrected it.  Many thanks.  8)

THE PEOPLE THEY ARE FRIENDS WITH SEEM TO BACK THEM UP KNOWING THE STATEMENT WAS UTTER GARBAGE!

I say, old chap, why let the facts get in the way of a good whinge, eh?  I'm his friend and I did not back him up.  Quite the contrary, I said that safety was the primary reason.

Wish I'd never mentioned daytime running lights....

Ah, it was your fault!  ;)

The main reason that DRLs were introduced in Sweden was to catch speeding drivers.

I thought that safety was the main reason?  This may be an unintended consequence.  Seems a bit draconian to implement such laws just to catch the odd speeding motorist.  Whatever next...   Black Boxes for cars?  ;)

Many years ago I worked for a motor-insurance broker called Auto-Direct.  They had a policy of pushing 'LP', or Legal-Protection, add-on policies each time a customer contacted them for a quote.  Back then the LP was priced at just £15, but it seemed to increase in price quite rapidly.  Staff were financially incentivised to push these policies onto customers.  It was a big money spinner for them.

I only worked there for four months.  I found that their business practices were largely unethical and not in the interests of the customer.  They also treated staff badly.  I left and won a court action against them regarding a contractual issue.

My advice.  Don't buy insurance from Auto Direct and think extremely carefully before taking bundled LP cover, regardless of insurer/broker.  You could get it cheaper elsewhere if you want it.

- just trying to be helpful, not start a fire.

I think you have helped.  We are now aware that one, or some, underwriters are no longer underwriting risks for Saabs.  It means that some insurers may no longer offer you a policy.  Good to be aware of the issue. :)

Happened on mine.  One of the four sensors was faulty.

...but if one or a few are doing this, how long before it spreads?

Anyone been able to insure their Rover, recently?  What about a Jensen?  They don't make those anymore.

Each underwriter will choose to insure certain risks and not others.  Sounds like this one chose not to insure Saab.  It's not an industry-wide rule.

Interesting to know, though.
