After a week with a cold, and doing nothing, I felt better today so I stripped it down and had one more go. I found that the old Imperial 1/4 in socket set along with a 1/4 in socket and the hex extension from my DeWalt drill/screwdriver, just fitted in. And with a short extension on the handle and some thick leather gloves, the screw gave way!! :)

The CPS is swapped, but I'm not confident.  The replacement is a Bosch which I've carried as a spare for a long time.  The car struggled to start.  It did eventually get running.  And then it restarted OK.  Stopped for lunch now, and will try again later, and see how it goes.

In the meantime I bought a spare CPS from a Saab specialist. They only offered two. A "high quality" unnamed one and a Valeo one. I bought the Valeo.  It was just going to be a "get you home" but I may put that in instead.

Left it an hour and it started straight away.  We will see.

I now have an overflowing cistern to fix...

It'll just be a 5 minute job in the future :)

Glad it's sorted, an overnight break often sorts things, so 7 times as much luck there. Valeo are generally decent so you should be OK.

It started to rain again, so i haven't been back to the car.  Cisternis fixed and a bit of touching up done to the paint in the bathroom.  I spent ages tiling a wall and went carefully around the shower unit.  Two weeks later the shower failed and the new one is a different shape.  So there was a bit of tiling to redo and some plumbing.  All the disturbed bits needed painting.

Went for a short drive this morning.  Car started, I think OK, but possibly could have been sharper, bur maybe I'm paranoid now.  It drove OK.

I left it to stand for about  half an hour, and it started straight away.  So, it will be used when needed and we will see how it goes.

Doing nothing on the car today has allowed me to fix the blocked downpipe from the flat roof.

Have you got OpenSid ?

There's a parameter in there that measures how long it takes the car to "start", well get over 400rpm I think it is.

You can keep an eye on that or compare it hot and cold. Tech II if you don't. I can look at mine if you want comparisons

I don't have Open SID.  I'll have a play with Tech2 tomorrow.

Looks like it's not going to rain tomorrow.  I'll browse my way through Tech2.  I was planning a Tech2 session anyway tomorrow to try and track down a C1925 code, which shows as a TCS/ESP short.

I arrived back from the States one day, usual routine, healthy getting on the plane, bugs getting at me when I got off, so I had a sore throat, runny nose, headache etc.

1/2 bottle of Southern Comfort did it for me, and no hangover.
