washers not working
« on: 19 August 2011, 03:53:06 PM »

Why wont my washers work!!!. Doh!!!.  This is the state of the pump when I took it off. The body is burst open with rust. Possible causes?. Frozen during the winter which has damaged the plastic outer skin and water has done its worst over the following months until its nacked it?. Anyhow, I salvaged as much as possible from "Son of Saab"before it went to the scrappy last week, so replaced pump for nowt and working once more.

With last harsh winters we have had, many people have not put a strong enough windscreen wash/anti-icing solution in the washer bottle.
Last winter I fixed the washer system on two cars belonging to two different neighbours due to frozen systems. Even though they did use a fairly strong solution ...it was just not strong enough
