Two 9-5 Aero's For Sale £800.00 for the pair

I have Two 9-5 Aero's for sale.

I would like them to go to good use rather than me scrap them.  They are based in Sevenoaks Kent.

First is a 2000 Aero Manual in Silver it has 142K on clock & has MOT until Oct 2024.  I am currently using it until I get my next car.  It is likely to need a little work on it to pass it's MOT.  I am the third owner of this vehicle having purchased it 2021.

Second is a 2002 MY03 Aero Manual in Midnight Blue with 166K on the clock this is on SORN.  I have owned this car since new & was very saddened when I stopped using this car in 2021 as I didn't at the time have the resources to get the car fixed.

I am sure at the very minimum one great car could be finished as most of the parts are common to both.

The cars are almost identical however the 2002 the one I brought from new has a number of extras which the 2000 one does not.
Electric Front Seats
Electric Sunroof
Parking Sensors
6 CD Changer in boot.
It is also ULEZ compliant which the older one isn't.

I believe an enthusiast with relevant skills could have one maybe two great cars here from all the component parts.

The cars will be for sale for a relatively short time (until middle of October 2024) as I need the space on my drive & will be sent for scrap if there is no interest.

I can provide photographs / answer questions for any genuine interested buyers.

That's a shame - I don't have the space to store 2 further cars, and the wife would kill me!!!

What was the issue with the 2002 car that caused you to stop using it?

It needed a significant amount of wielding at rear of car to get it through it's MOT.

Worth putting some photos up - I'm sure someone with the space may well be interested. What sort of things may need doing to the 2000 car for MOT?

For the Silver 2000 Aero to get through it's MOT

I have been told that it will need
Throttle Body replaced
Fix an exhaust blow
Also Offside Lower arm has corroded.

I am told it is not a lot of work.

Oh no, so there was no interest in either?

How much did you get? And did they go to a Saab breakers?

There was a SORNed Y reg 9-5 on Ebay I was watching, just to see what it would go for, and the winning bidder then didn't want it as it wasn't an auto, so the seller offered it to me for 500 quid.

Trouble is I don't have the space to store something like that, or the means to transport it

No there was no interest only you I'm afraid.

They didn't go to a SAAB breakers so I am guessing the components are all crushed which is a shame. I got an ok price £350 for each one.

Just a bit surprised no one showed any interest, as I think they could have been a great purchase for someone,

I am surprised. If I'd had the space, and the means to move them, I would have been interested. It looked like certainly one of them would have been quite easy to get upto scratch. The other would have taken a bit more work, but still a lot of potential.

Had you advertised them on Ebay as well??

No I didn't put them on EBay I thought here would be a better place for Saab enthusiasts but obviously apart from you I think I was mistaken. Maybe in hindsight it would have been a better option but I didn't want to spend too much time & effort on their sale.

I feel they were priced reasonably unlike 1 person on Ebay trying to sell a 9-3 firstly at £23,000 (what planet is he/she/they on) then more recently at £17,000 very over-priced IMO I hope that wasn't you....

The problem with advertising a Saab on a Saab enthusiast forum, is that we all have at least one already.

I guess it is academic now, but there is a Saab buy and sell group  on Facebook, where there are a few guys who break Saabs. Also there are some specialists that also break cars for spares.

But at least you got a reasonable scrap price for each of them I guess.
