Auction for these has now finished.

One gone, three left. I'll wait till the next free listing day and put them back on again.

Classic Saab 9-3 & GM900 (MY 1994-2002/03CV) / Re: Ooops Aeriel

Hi Mick,

Bad luck.

Is it an electric aerial? If so you should be able to purchase a replace mast via eBay. I did so recently for my 2001 9.3 and it cost about £12 including postage in the UK. The supplier trades on eBay as car-masts-uk and have 100% feedback on over 20,000 transactions.

Mine came complete with instructions and took about 30 minutes to fit including removing the old.

Good luck

John

Classic Saab 9-3 & GM900 (MY 1994-2002/03CV) / Wheezing Brake Servo
« on: 06 November 2011, 02:48:05 PM »
I've put about 1200 miles on my 2001 9-3 SE since I got it in late September.

No major problems but recently the brake servo is starting to sound rather asthmatic and 'wheezes' when I take my foot off the pedal.

The brakes work just fine, I recently got braked tested by some fool who shot out of a side road without stopping, and the servo assistance seems to be OK, but is the wheezing a symptom of an imminent failure?

Thanks

John

Thanks again for the answer. You were correct it was a 2007 unit, must check my facts better.

Looks like it's back to plan A then.

Things haven't moved on much from my original post as I'm still looking for Saab cd/radio unit that has been divorced but with VIN just in case.

I have however been offered a divorced cd/radio unit from a MY 2005 9-3 which is the one with the centre volume knob.

Does anyone know if these can be retro-fitted successfully to a first generation 9-3 and will the cd changer and steering wheel controls still work?

Thanks

John

Thanks for the reply.

The JVC is a single DIN unit with a storage slot underneath.

I didn't make it clear in my original post that I want to put in a Saab double DIN radio/cd unit.

Hope your advice still applies, I'd heard stories about divorcing and re-marrying units.

Hi,

I've bought a 2001 9-3 at a very reasonable price that has a JVC face-off unit in place of the original Saab radio/cd unit.

As I've got a bit of the budget left I was going to buy a radio/cd unit from eBay and hopefully fit it.

What questions should I ask of the seller and will the unit simply plug into the right slot or are there likely to be installation issues?

Cheers

John
